Krakow, Poland. June 10, 2019. I was standing just outside this archway when these three ladies and one gentleman suddenly set up and started playing. The echo in the archway was so beautiful (the phone mic doesn’t do it justice). Like most folk music I’ve heard wherever I’ve traveled, the sound is joyous and sad in the same breath, evoking everything the people have been through. And the folks here certainly have been through a lot.
